It was fifteen years ago when High Temperature Linings installed a lining system that has proven itself to be one of a kind. The County of Fairfax directed HTL to install a protective lining for conducting intense live fire evolutions, achieving temperatures of 1600 to 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. Since we completed the installation, the County has frequently conducted 12 evolutions in one day (development of large, twelve pallet burns, and extinguishments, with hot face temperatures dropping to approximately 1000 degrees Fahrenheit and development of the next burn). The Fairfax Fire Academy conducts fire training an average of every other day, but often uses the structure several days in a row. HTL installed System 203 in the Fairfax structure, which had previously been taken out of service after structural concrete had been severely damaged from advanced Class "A" training, while adhering to NFPA 1403 standards. As a part of the lining installation, HTL installed thermocouples to monitor temperatures on the hot surface of the lining system, AND at the cold surface of the structure behind our lining System 203. During the the six month test period, the temperatures behind System 203 did not exceed 210 degrees Fahrenheit.
