A New Concept for Class A Live Fire Training

BurnPod is a new concept for live fire training structures. We pre-cast these burn modules in our plant and deliver them to your site. The BurnPod can be attached to:

BurnPods provide safe and realistic Class A fire training environments that are easily added to your structure.

 

Rooms are delivered to the job site and set on concrete foundations/slab that were previously cast by HTL personnel.

BurnPods come fully lined with System 203 to give you the protection you need for live fire training.

Facility shown here was installed in March 2004 at Hanover Fire Department, VA in one day.

Hanover’s existing structure had been structurally compromised by years of training. Due to its condition, HTL was uncomfortable loading the structure with the weight of lining systems, and recommended the addition of HTL’s BurnPod.  HTL provided three fully lined burn rooms, increasing the size of the existing structure by about 20%. The existing structure was renovated with new doors, windows, concrete repairs and block work. Firefighters conduct VES, hose advancement and ventilation drills in the existing structure as they advance to the burn rooms.

Existing burn building in Hanover, VA was refurbished and remodeled by HTL personnel prior to receiving three BurnPods. Two boxes are stacked (note railing on roof of top box) and another is on the side of the building.

BurnPod are provided with windows and drainage scuppers. Exterior of boxes are protected around and above windows to protect exterior concrete from fire/heat rolling out of windows.
